Amendment One & North Carolina

As many of you know, North Carolina voters approved an Amendment to the State Constitution. It reads as follows:

“Marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State. This section does not prohibit a private party from entering into contracts with another private party; nor does this section prohibit courts from adjudicating the rights of private parties pursuant to such contracts.”

Who’s getting excited for the Hunger Games movie this weekend?!? I know I’m looking forward to seeing such an intense book get translated onto the big screen.

If you can’t wait for the movie this weekend, whet your appetite with this interview of Jennifer Lawrence (Katniss Everdeen) and Gary Ross (Hunger Games director) from NPR’s Morning Edition. It’s entitled Spiders And Fighting And Trees, Oh My: Filming ‘The Hunger Games’, and it offers interesting insight into their experience filming the movie right here in the Asheville mountains of North Carolina.
